Parkinson's Victoria

Parkinson’s Victoria is a not-for-profit, statewide specialist organisation that has been supporting people living with Parkinson’s for more than 25 years.

We campaign for a better quality of life, provide expert information on all aspects of Parkinson's and run local support networks for people with Parkinson's, their carers, families and friends.

Our mission is to empower, inform and educate individuals, to reduce the impact of the condition on their lives, help them manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s, and assist them in maintaining as full and as healthy a lifestyle as possible.

We provide a range of information and support services to those diagnosed with the condition, as well as their families, carers, the general community and health care professionals.

We also work to educate the community and liaise with government and other peak bodies on Parkinson’s related issues.

We receive limited funding from the State government, and rely on the financial support and generosity of individuals, community groups, organisations and businesses in order to continue to provide and develop our support services. Funds are invested in services, programs and research to enhance the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s.

There are an estimated 20,000 people currently living with Parkinson’s in Victoria. Another 25 Australians are diagnosed every day.
